Open Hour Visits - PAWS welcomes everyone to our facility! Visiting during our open hours, especially our quieter weekday open hours, is a great way to spend time with our feline animals. Spending time with our cats and kittens helps them to become more comfortable around people, which increases their chances of adoption. This option provides a flexible way for people with disabilities to contribute to the PAWS Mission by helping to prepare our animals to meet their potential adopters.
Small Group Volunteering - The PAWSabilities Program is a structured small group program to provide volunteer opportunities for adults with disabilities who have a desire to contribute to furthering the PAWS Mission. The program introduces volunteers to a variety of shelter upkeep tasks such as laundry, cleaning, and the restocking of supplies along with safe animal engagement opportunities that promote their socialization. Program leaders will also strive to include the reinforcement of a particular life skill identified by the individual participant. Volunteer groups will meet during a one hour shift every other week for a 3-month period. PAWS partners directly with local agencies for this program. Interested individuals should contact their respective agency to express their desire to become a PAWSabilities volunteer.
