PAWS offers several unique donation funds that support specific topic areas at the animal shelter, providing key services to aid in the recovery and adoption of cats and dogs.
Good Dog Fund
After adoption, dogs in the PAWS Good Dog Fund will receive free training to help make them a perfect fit for their new families. Dogs in the Good Dog Fund have the icon to the left next to their listing.
On The Mend Medical Fund
Each year Centre County PAWS takes in many animals with urgent medical needs such as Canine Heartworm, severe skin infections, or orthopedic needs. PAWS rescues animals from shelters where they would otherwise be destroyed because the shelter is unable to provide medical care and from families that are not able to meet the medical needs of the animal. Our non-euthanasia philosophy means that we give each cat and dog the medical care they need and deserve so they can be On the Mend and find their forever family.
Even with the generosity of local veterinarians providing services at discounted rates, our medical costs can be very high. Please make a donation today to our On The Mend Medical Fund, and help us provide the much needed medical care our animals deserve.
Dr. John Thomas VET Fund
The Veterinary Emergency Treatment (VET) Fund is a community resource intended to keep animals in loving families. A limited number of grants will be available monthly to Centre County residents and full-time students who display financial need. It will be administered by Centre County PAWS. In honor of Dr. John Thomas, a well-respected veterinarian in the Centre County community, the VET Fund has been generously established through an initial $100,000 matching pledge from Dr. Fred Metzger of VCA Metzger Animal Hospital. Through Dr. Metzger’s and your generosity, this fund can ensure that Dr. Thomas' legacy of service continues for years to come.
