How long have I been at PAWS?

I started doing cat care at PAWS in 2016 upon retiring from Penn State. Soon after,  I joined the Board of Directors and have served on numerous committees. I’m still doing cat care as a shift leader and helping to mentor our new volunteers.

What is my favorite thing about PAWS?

My favorite thing is the outstanding work PAWS does as an organization. PAWS makes Centre County a better community, and I’m immensely proud to play a small part in that work.

What’s my favorite thing to do at PAWS?

Recently, I’ve been volunteering at our low-cost community clinics and love that this service helps to keep health care affordable for pet owners. I’ve also helped to relaunch the PAWSabilities Program, which gives individuals with intellectual disabilities an opportunity to become a PAWS volunteer.

What are my favorite non-PAWS hobbies?

In addition to my book club, I enjoy playing pickleball, hiking, water volleyball, e-biking, and visiting my almost two-year-old grandson.

What is my favorite book?

Being MortalMedicine and What Matters in the End by Atul Gawande

What is my favorite place to vacation?

My husband and I have wintered in Arizona for the last 3 years, but we also try to visit a new place annually. In 2025 we’re doing a cruise through the Panama Canal.
