How long have you been at PAWS?

I have been at PAWS for six years. I began volunteering shortly after I retired.

What's your favorite thing about PAWS?

Besides the people at PAWS, my favorite thing is watching PAWS dogs and cats, after a tough break in life, getting happy homes and a second chance to blossom.

What's your favorite thing to do at PAWS?

Greeting people that come through the door, answering the phone and answering emails that allows me to hear people's stories and try to help them get what they need. PAWS depends on public support and good will and I try to help create a positive image and positive result for PAWS every chance I get.

What are your favorite non-PAWS hobbies?

I paint in watercolors. I take tons of photographs and I write. I love everything creative and enjoy being out in nature. I am a voracious reader and can often be found in a card game. Did I mention sports...I am an avid fan!

Where's your favorite place to vacation?

I like to escape to warmth in the winter, so Florida and California are high on my list. My daughters and I try to get away together a couple of times a year, which is wonderful!

What's your favorite book?

My favorite books remain the books I read as a child and were often about animals. The Call of the Wild by Jack London, Misty of Chicoteague, Black Beauty and all those orange biographies for children about famous people that every library seem to have. I grew up in a small town and those books transported me around the world and made me think I could do anything.
