How long have you been at PAWS?

In 2017 I began going on transports, then in February of 2018 I completed dog care training and have been a volunteer ever since.

What is your favorite thing about PAWS?

I love that PAWS has opportunities for people of all ages, abilities, interests and skills to experience the gratification of volunteering. I also love that PAWS helps so many animals to find their forever homes, and supports the community with education, spay/neuter assistance and offers food/supplies through the Pet Pantry.

What is your favorite thing to do at PAWS?

Matching a person or family with their forever family member has to be my absolute favorite thing to do at PAWS. Finding loving homes for those special dogs that need a soft spot to land is extremely rewarding. I also really enjoy transporting.

What are your favorite non- PAWS hobbies?

I love to read, and spend time with my family and pets (5 dogs and a cat).

Where are you from?

I grew up in Beech Creek,  PA. I lived in Mill Hall for several years after I met and married my husband, Cory Allen,  and had my children, Sydney and Carter. Then in 2006, we had the opportunity to move back to Beech Creek into the former home of my Aunt and Uncle which is directly across the street from my paternal grandparents. We continue to live in that home in Beech Creek.

What is your favorite place to vacation?

Any of the mini-vacations that I have had the opportunity to take with my daughter, Sydney, are my favorite. We've been to Atlantic City, Baltimore, and most recently to Anderson, SC and Freedom Fences.
