This week’s feature dog is Pace! While he sometimes makes scary faces when barks don’t worry, he really is just sharing his opinions with you and is a big goofy boy at heart. His favorite things are laying on the couch, smelling out the car window and getting belly rubs. At nearly 6.5 years old Pace has seen his fair share of things but as a “flight risk” Pace is always looking for a new adventure if you would just leave the door open for him. Pace doesn’t mind children but would do best in a home with teenagers because he isn’t a big fan of hugs and sometimes little humans don’t follow the rules. He has mixed emotions about other dogs, so while they don’t usually make him angry, he would need to meet any dog roommates to decide if he wants to be their friend. He’s just like us! Pace is not a “cat person” and needs a kitty free home.
Pace absolutely loves hanging out in the kitchen at PAWS. There are usually multiple volunteers in the kitchen during dog care shifts and he loves going from person to person to see who gives the best belly rubs. He also makes sure each person gets a few kisses! It is an added bonus that this room is also full of food and treats.
Pace has a “pet partner” at PAWS, a specific volunteer who works with him on training and makes sure he gets some extra love and attention. Pace has had a sleepover at his pet partner’s house and did great! He loves watching TV and is laid back in the house. He mostly enjoys sleeping and looking out the windows. Pace did insist on sleeping in the bed and he can be very persuasive. 
Pace has had fun being this week’s featured dog. He would love to meet you sometime to show you how much he likes getting pats and hanging out. Nothing wears a guy out like sleeping, and the best way to recover is another nap. But in the meanwhile he wouldn’t mind looking for his forever home!
