Meet Angela, our PAWS July Volunteer of the Month!

When did you start volunteering at PAWS?

I started volunteering at PAWS in April 2016.

What jobs/roles have you performed at PAWS?

I have been a dog care volunteer, a dog floor volunteer, a shift leader on the dog side, and a dog foster.

What do you currently do as a volunteer?

I am currently a dog care volunteer, shift leader, and I'm fostering Gomez.

Why do you volunteer at PAWS?

I volunteer at PAWS to keep myself active, socialize with the other animal lovers, and spend time with the dogs. I adopted my dog, Max, from PAWS in 2012 and really wanted to pay it forward and help care for and love other animals while they wait for their forever homes.

When you're not at PAWS, what do you like to do with your time?

I enjoy baking, quilting, gardening, and spending time with my husband and our dogs.

What do you like best about being a PAWS volunteer? What do you find to be the most rewarding?

I love spending time with the dogs, especially the ones who have been at PAWS for a while. I think it's amazing to see all of the hard work that the volunteers put in to help these dogs become more comfortable while they're at PAWS and hopefully more adoptable so they can get their own loving forever home.

If someone asked you why they should volunteer at PAWS, what answer would you give?

The people here are wonderful. PAWS is a great community of people who really care about the animals. It's a really good place to make friends and the best part of all is getting to play and snuggle with the dogs!
