Role at PAWS

Director of Development at PAWS

Time with PAWS

I'll be celebrating my 10th Anniversary  in February 2023 as the first DOD hired at PAWS

What is advice you would give to people interested in working or volunteering at PAWS?

I highly recommend volunteering or working at PAWS. It's very rewarding on so many levels. In my time here, I've met amazing volunteers and donors who have so much empathy and compassion for cats and dogs. I'm in awe of the lengths  volunteers and staff will go to in order to care for our animals- especially the  scared, shy, fearful ones.

What is one of your favorite things to do within your role at PAWS?

What I enjoy most about working here are my colleagues, volunteers and supporters.  My job has a lot of variety and to all those people who say "how can you ask people for money" - when I see the need that exists, or meet some of the animals who've come from awful situations - how can I not ask friends of PAWS for help? I've worked in the non profit field for most of my career and am fortunate to have met many, many people who love animals and believe in our mission.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I love to read, have a great family,

and have the cutest PAWS rescue, Schmigadoon, a scruffy border terrier who make frequent appearances on my Facebook page. I also have a 7 year old cat Kiwi.
