Meet Ginger, our PAWS May Volunteer of the Month!

When did you start volunteering at PAWS?

What jobs/roles have you performed at PAWS and what do you currently do as a volunteer?

Started multiple cleaning shifts with Monday and Friday mornings a regular shift leader, did a few floor volunteer hours, best job was intakes and fostering. Now I do a lot from home-emails, cat line, fostering-from orphans to hospice situations. Help with NOK training NOK intakes, fostering kittens and young adults.

Why do you volunteer at PAWS?

I enjoy the animals and people to love animals.

When you're not at PAWS, what do you like to do with your time?

Gardening, travel, especially to Hawaii to visit family and friends.

What do you like best about being a PAWS volunteer? What do you find to be the most rewarding?

I still enjoy the animals, seeing the kittens grow from bottle babies to adoptable new best friends. And making families happy that they've found a special kitty.

If someone asked you why they should volunteer at PAWS, what answer would you give?

Meet different people, learn about animals and shelters, how rescue organizations operate, widen one's horizons. I've learned so much from my fellow volunteers, some who are now close friends. And you can tell people, that I'm a failed foster and proud of it.
